TAE KWON DO
Taekwondo is the art of the barefoot and fist. Taekwondo combines combat techniques, self defense, sport, exercise, meditation and philosophy. Traditional Taekwondo is typically non competition-oriented focusing primarily on self-defense and traditional values of the art.
Taekwondo is known for strong and effective kicking techniques. Based on a form of combat, it has developed into a way of life. Tae Kwon Do is a way of disciplining the mind, body, and spirit. The beginner learns to join his mind and body together. As he advances, he learns how to overcome his weaknesses and develop his own strengths.
Physically – One develops coordination, gains strength, increases flexibility, and improves cardio–vascular conditioning. From all of these physical practices one can have a strong, healthy body.
Mentally – One builds self confidence, gains judgment, and improves self–control. From all of these mental disciplines, one can have a sound mind.
Philosophically – one learns respect, helpfulness, and honesty with others, always standing by the weak. Taekwondo is an art for humanity, guiding and forming outstanding character. As a contemporary universal philosophy, Taekwondo is practiced as a modern world sport.
